WHO IS CHARLIE BARTLETT YOU ASK?!
An awesome guy with a knack for helping others...
Charlie Bartlett is a 2007 comedy about a boy who is kicked out of private school and goes to anew public school as the self-appointed psychiatrist of the student body. It's hard to give a summary of the plot, only because so much of it would spoil the movie. Basic things that happen though are he starts off a loser, gains popularity, helps out the students, and gets into some trouble. The outcome, well you'll find out if you watch.
The movie stars:
Anton Yelchin as Charlie Bartlett
Hope Davis as Marilyn Bartlett
Kat Dennings as Susan Gardner
Robert Downey Jr. as Nathan Gardner
I do recommend watching this if you're a teenager though, because you will relate. If you're an adult, well you'll understand how they feel in the movie, but you will not relate as well, only because you're done experiencing it.
There are a lot of scenes in the movie that are just absolutely put together great and the acting that goes with is great, too.
Also, I think it's safe too add this is not just a comedy, but it has a great message for all ages. I think that's interpreted differently by each person who sees it, though.
I guess I would classify it as a coming-of-age kind of movie, but not necessarily, because as I said before all ages will understand the message from this movie.
The soundtrack looks promising as well, I think it'll be good from the songs that were played in the film. This video is to help you get a feel for what the movie is like while listening to a cool song. "Voodoo" performed by Spiral Beach.
There are many great quotes in the movie so here I'll leave the IMDb for you guys to read.
To me this movie was a 5 out of 5 but perhaps because I am a teen right now I'm looking at this movie with a different persepctive.
