Lolita Laugh For You And Me

When I saw this video I was laughing so hard, because it's very true to lolita. I guess you'd only understand this if you were one. Well, to all the lolitas out there reading my blog, have a good laugh.

Finished With Midterms

I'm done with Midterms. . . 

and honestly I think I did pretty well. I can't check my grades at the moment, but I'll see about them as soon as possible.

This is how I feel about each subject:

Biology: Pretty good, but now that I know for sure I missed one of the questions, (Stupid osmosis) I feel pretty bad about myself.

Physical Education: Not so good, but it was fairly easy during the soccer portion and I knew quite a bit of the volleyball portion questions.

Math: Easy but math is my forte.

Spanish: I'd say I'll get a B or higher on this one. Definitely not a C.

English: I already know my grade for this one. 100% and my grade only went up 1% You can realize how that makes me feel inside right now.

Health: Oh, yeah, this one was easy.

Do I think my GPA went up? Yes, possibly. Hopefully. :)

Midterms

This Week I'll Be Having Midterms...

And I think this will be my shot at raising all my grades to an A and keeping them at an A (except maybe P.E. I fricking hate that class.)

Children of the Corn

Not At All What I Expected. . .

Honestly, the movie was not that great (no wonder it got like what one star and a half), but the concept was good and I was scared and in suspense at many moments.

I'd watch it again though, it wasn't bad to the extent where I'd never watch it again (maybe I just love Stephen King which makes me biased). The graphics were not good, but let's face it, THIS WAS THE 80's!!!!

To sum it down into simpler words the movie was simply about satanic corn lovers.

I will say something though, Malachi is extremely scary and if you thought gingers had no soul before, just see Malachi and you will think they are even scarier.

The Fly

Yesterday, I saw a fantastic film that was absolutely amazing. . .

I don't remember how it came up, but my mom and I were talking about something similar to the topic, when she said, "That reminds me of this movie I saw called The Fly, I'll check it out for you when we go to the library." She did just that and yesterday we finally saw it. The guy at the library said that it was about AIDS but after watching it, I can't say I can make the connection. More so, I think it was a movie that was made to teach people that science is not all that it is cracked up to be. The acting was good, the make-up was not (you'd have to watch it to know what I mean), sometimes the continuity was not all that good (i.e. there's a scene where the main character has hair on his back and in the next scene he no longer has it.).

The movie was based on a short story that was written in Playboy. It is a sci-fi horror movie, I'd say more leaning towards the sci-fi aspect (duh!). There's a second part, but my mom said it's not that great. Still, I wouldn't mind checking it out.

The main characters are:

Jeff Goldblum as Seth Brundle. I thought he was very cute at the beginning and then gradually he began to disgust me.

Geena Davis as Veronica "Ronnie" Quaife. She was very good and at first I didn't like her character, but I ended up liking her very much.

John Getz as Stathis Borans. I did not like his character, because he was a pervert (sex maniac towards Veronica).

There were a few more characters, but really not that many. The whole story was mostly centered around Seth and Veronica.

Probably my favorite part is where Brundle starts becoming the fly and he realizes he's becoming a horrible thing and then calls it "the perfect disease". I mean he calls himself "Brundlefly". Does that not worry you? He basically lost his wits and if you see towards the end of the movie he really has. Everything went downhill for him. It really shows that people die for science, science could be the death of you. Maybe that's what the film was trying to say, that death and science go hand in hand. At least, that's how I'm interpreting it.

I say watch it if you're an intellectual person, it's not a movie that people will pick apart if they're only in it for the horror aspect. You have to love a movie for all it's parts. (I should be a critic!~)
